Herbs & Aroma Therapies

Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals By: Kristen Leigh Bell (A certified Master Aromatherapist) My Review: This has been a wonderful book for beginners to aromatherapy, and for people who want to use herbs on their pets (READ THIS BOOK before you do). The author simply explains the many uses of aromatherapy (it's not just smelling stuff) such as how to safely apply essential oils topically and the use of the much safer hydrosols. She mentions all of the important things that must be taken into account before using aromatherapy as a treatment, and she brilliantly describes the needs of each species of pet in detail as well as each herb constituent in detail for the science lover/educated mind. What is also extremely wonderful, are her recipes to make herbal first-aids and shampoos for dogs, cats, horses, rodents, and birds. She even includes reliable and safe resources to find these herbs, oils, and holistic vets. It is definitely a must read for all who want to heal their pets naturally (It was also extremely inexpensive, for the poor college student I am, when purchased online. So there is no excuse to not own, or at least read, this book). |
